Committee

"India IP Alliance focuses on achieving its goals and objectives through various committees which are set up and aligned with vision and mission of Global IP Alliance and India IP Alliance."

Details of Committee:

  • Grassroots Innovation: Committee will be responsible for outreach to people on the ground, outside of the IP Ecosystem, who are developing innovative solutions to their own problems. Help them learn about IP protections and find ways to monetize their ideas
  • School & College Education: The committee will reach out to Schools, colleges and Universities to create awareness about IP. Help them with 3 Cs: IP Curriculum, IP Careers, IP Commercialization (of ideas being developed by Colleges and Universities). Will also include efforts to teach school and college children about problem solving and ‘Invention Education’.
  • Technology Licensing & Commercialization: Committee will help Entrepreneurs, Inventors, startups, Universities and others understand the value of their IP and help them license their solutions.
  • Startup & MSME IP Education: The committee will educate Startups and MSME about IP and how to protect and monetize their inventions, trademarks and other creations.
  • Protectors: The Protectors include IP Lawyers, IP Consultants, IP Strategists, Patent & TM Offices and others involved in protecting IP. They are often people with deep IP Expertise that the rest of the ecosystem can use. This committee will help them connect with Creators and Enablers, so as to create a more efficient IP Ecosystem.
  • Enablers: Enablers are those who fund an efficient IP Ecosystem by supporting the creation and use of Intellectual Property and helping bring those ideas to the market. They include Venture Capitalists, Corporations, Research Universities who are often not very well aware of their own IP strengths. Typical projects for Enabler Committee can include IP Awareness & Education events, IP Strategies & Playbooks, advice on accurate IP Valuations/ Assessments, support with Standard IP Contracts, Term Sheets, etc.
  • D&I: Diversity and Inclusion is a critical pillar of GLIPA. The goal of the committee is to support the idea that anyone, irrespective of how they look or who they are, rich or poor, male or female, are able to bring their ideas from their heads to people’s hands in an efficient way, quickly, and at a fair price.
  • TM, CR, TK & GI: Committee will support efforts to protect TM, CR, TK and GI. Includes outreach to the grassroots to educate people on the value of their creations.
  • Inventors Committee: The committee will support efforts to create an inventor community that can learn from each other, grow, inspire, and develop solutions that the country needs.
  • AI & Emerging Technologies: Committee will support the nascent ecosystem that is developing around emerging technologies and AI and make them aware of the importance of protecting their IP.
